So there’s a time when a fellow must finish what he’s started. That’d be me and Wednesday’s Song. Somehow I got interested in playing Second Life gigs. It’s addicting cause real live people are behind those avatars listening to the tunes. But, I’m back to WS. There’s such a tiny bit left to do. Little bitty drum edits on 2 songs and a polish mix on 4 more. Soooo, yeah, I opened, em up and did the drum edits.
Life is so weird isn’t it? There’s almost nothing left to do percentage wise. What is it about ourselves that’ll ignore something almost finished? Fear? I really don’t think that’s it in my case. I just like coming up with the concept so much that as soon as a project becomes routine my fun loving brain flits off to a new idea.
There was a little phrase in a book of nothing but little phrases I used to keep in the loo. The one that stuck in my mind was:
The last lap is the hardest.

Thanks to Vivien for modeling the new iPhones we got.
At first I was put off because it’s a slippery little devil. But the ipod has won me over. I have wanted one. For a long time. The box of 120 vinyl records is have digitized. I don’t get much personal listening time cause I can’t listen while I work. Graphic designers always seem to have music playing while working. I’m stuck making more music. lol. And I don’t have a commute. So the drive to work isn’t for that. Anyway, walking Vivien, when it’s just the 2 of us, has turned into an amazing listening experience. I find myself programing the music in advance.

All of eastern europe it’s International Women’s Day. It’s every March 8. Much bigger than Valentines. It’s a little off topic from my usual music bits. But, I got my other half roses and candies. And why not show a little extra care toward the ladies in your life. It’s not just romantic relations but is meant for moms, sisters, you know… all the ladies.

I haven’t been to work as early as my new year’s goal yet….but, I’m trying to get there. Early to bed is the hard part.
Still thinking about the direction to take for the next songs. The first 13 were really featuring the Samick Royale guitar and bass. I want to show them my appreciation for endorsing me. The arrangements are stripped down, mostly to a single guitar track bass and drums. Next up who knows. I want to add more to the tracks, though that takes time.
I’m invited to a sweat lodge tomorrow. I’m mostly worried about having a heart attack and croaking from the heat. Oh. The Secret. I’m grateful for my abundant life and the spritual journeys 2 hours of blistering heat will take me on.

After reuniting with my old crew we figured there’s no reason not to get Velvet on the internet. So after quite a few years we make our debut. We toured, got distribution, made videos. Lots of good times.

My good friend, Kevin Caetans, is having his holiday party tonight. That means our band from the 90’s, Velvet, might play a song or two at his house. Velvet did a lot of cool things. Our CD was one of the very first enhanced CDs and we were nationally distributed. No hits but a lot of experience in how not to run a music label. Pictures at 9…

My beautiful chair broke a couple of months ago during an all nighter. I’d been working about 20 hours straight and leaned back. Boom. The rail that holds the back to the bottom broke flinging me backwards and skinning my knee on the underside of my desktop. Very dignified. Well, well.
I’ve been keeping the carcass behind my studio desk for no particular reason other than it hurts so much to part with a dear friend that doesn’t hurt my back even after many hours sitting on it. Some people made cracks about my pakrat behavior.
Lo and behold. Jerry Witt, owner of Motion City Films, and the man from whom I sublet my studio threw away a chair. I saw it in the trash bin. Looked twice. Could it be? Yes, I, a professional music producer, dumpster dived and fished it out. The part is a perfect match! Yay! I really love my chair. The arms aren’t a perfect match (see below). Now it has character. You can take the boy out of Tennessee but you can’t take the Tennessee out of the boy.

“And What Is Love” gets a new life having been remixed by my buddy Josh Christofferson. He’s a screenwriter who rocks it up with some roughed up electric guitars. It’s a gas to hear it. Find it on the From You page.
