The Skinny:
Jonathan Coulton mentioned songfight.org on a podcast. Checked ‘em out. They have a competition every week where fighters write and record a song based on a title. That’s how this title came up. But I missed the deadline. Oops. Got a song anyway. Now that this one is done I’m going to go there to check out all the other songs called A Credible Threat.
A Credible Threat
A credible threat
A credible foe
A credible enemy
Beyond my control
I lost my way today at five o five
When I looked in my barrista’s eyes
I like to keep things under control you know
One magic moment made a break in my flow
A credible threat
A break in my walls
A credible enemy
Beyond my control
I find myself back at the scene in line
Rethink my order fifteen times
A witty conversation to break the ice; “extra foam”
I’m going to tell her just as soon as I can get her alone
Today she looked at me and smiled and said
“I’m starting another job instead”
‘But what about us?’ I heard myself say so smooth
She looked in my eyes and said “Here’s what you are to me”
A credible threat
An invincible foe
A magical mystery
Beyond my control
A credible threat
A break in my wall
A worthy opponent
You made me lose control
A credible threat
I’m out of my shell
A credible threat
A credible enemy
Beyond my control
